Former Googler Gabriel Stricker steps down as Twitter’s head of comms.

New interim Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey isn't wasting any time shaping the company to his liking. Halfway through his first month, Twitter is parting ways with its veteran head of communications Gabriel Stricker.

"It continues to be essential that we show the world the value of Twitter. Communications is a key component of that, and to help build toward a stronger future, we are looking now to shift our communications strategy and direction," a Twitter spokesperson told Recode, which first reported the news. "We will be bringing in new leadership, and we thank Gabriel for his contributions."

Stricker tweeted a brief goodbye:

Twitter has lately been under fire for an inability to tell its own story, which some say is partially the cause for its troubles attracting new users and retaining current ones. That criticism is directly related to the pressure Wall Street is putting on Twitter, which has so far failed to meet the high expectations it set when going public in 2013.

Stricker is the latest executive to leave the company, which lost its now-former CEO Dick Costolo last month.

Twitter did not name a replacement.
